» About the Nordic Space Training Academy

The main objective of the Academy is to ensure the safe stay of astronauts in orbit and the successful execution of complex spaceflight programs through rigorous preparation.

The Nordic Space Training Academy (NSTA) was established as a premier European facility for advanced aerospace research and astronaut training. Located in the cutting-edge Helsinki Space Campus, the Academy serves as a hub for international cooperation in space exploration.

Since its inception, the Academy has trained hundreds of aerospace professionals and astronauts from dozens of countries around the world. Today, NSTA is a unique scientific research institution, with only a few comparable facilities existing globally.

The Center features a powerful and highly modern simulator base, allowing crews to practice every stage of a spaceflight: from launch and orbital docking to complex extravehicular activities (spacewalks) and landings in various extreme climatic conditions.
